Experiencing Nature Installation

2009

Like most people residing in an urban environment, I bring nature into my habitat. Potted plants linger here and there, providing me a controlled touch of nature. Yet, even as I bring nature to me, nature comes at me. A plant like Kudzu, despite not being native to the South, demonstrates a vast reclaiming of non-living space. I am humbled by this and strangely comforted by the thought that my control of nature around me is not met with acquiescence, but with powerful protest.
